As part of his recently-completed solo, The Art of ‘Nois’, Jei Tseng created four new versions of his Nois figure including an instantly-recognizable collabo with Korean artist Coolrain. Simply titled Break Time, the design features Nois relaxing on a clear bench.
The restful style flows from Coolrain’s ENBT (Enjoy Break Time) concept made popular with numerous Astrocat, Rabbit Trooper figures—each resting on a clear bench. With head bowed, astronaut-like gloves on his knees, and retro high tops, Nois offers a fond flashback to the early Astrocat drops.
A reaction to all the noise that surrounds us daily, interrupts us, and distracts us from our goals, Nois features stylized swirls over its ears as a refuge from the distractions and perhaps a reminder to tune out all that you don’t need. Break Time will be available in two colorways – Light Gray/Red and Dark Gray/Yellow. It’s likely that Break Time’s ear coverings are removable as is the case with the standard Nois figures — a fresh touch that plays off the personal choice the concept offers.
The Break Time vinyl art toy will be available on Wednesday (5.3) @ 8 PM PDT from Jei Tseng Studio for NT$9,980 (~$329). Jei Tseng has also recently released the Nois Original 12″ vinyl art toys from his solo in both Plus (249 pcs, light gray/red) and Minus colorways (149 pcs, dark gray/yellow) for $330 each.
