Space Boi’s journey from resin art toy to 4″ sofubi marks a milestone as the artist behind TheSpaceBoidega is in Japan setting up production. The energetic cosmic explorer has a cute design. The large star-shaped eyes hint at the fun adventures enjoyed and those that await. The design of the character’s space suit and headset approach that ideal balance of detailed yet stylized.
The vinyl design builds on the resins that were released at DesignerCon 2022. The new figure has a more compact pose, ready to leap in action compared to the standing pose of the original. The star eyes also replace the more standard anime-vibe eyes of the resins.
