HK-based Elz-co. continues to give shape to what it calls ’21st century toy noveau’ with the new 武Ching Zl 3D-printed resin art toy. Featuring an eye-catching translucent blue gradient design, the new figure explores permanance of ‘Death, Tattoos & Everything’. Thanks in part to the 3D-printing process, 武Ching Zl’s 34 tattoos are sculpted from within, leaving the surface of the figure completely smooth. Standing on sculpting alone without any additional paint, the tattoos give the figure a unique, almost ethereal vibe.
While Elz-co.’s previous releases featured surreal, stylized poses and sculpts, 武Ching Zl is perhaps the most straightforward form wise. The figure stays true to the basic person shape, albeit one with extraordinary teeth. That said, this might be the brand’s standout release to-date thanks to its blend of an approachable sculpt, eye-catching translucent design, and the fairly novel use of inner sculpting for the tattoos.
The 武Ching Zl resin art toy (5.91″) is available for pre-order from select retailers including myplasticheart ($117.99) and also directly from Elz-co. (HK$580). The figure is slated to shp in June 2021.
Carrying the figure’s concept of pivotal choices and lasting consequences, the figure comes in a blister card packaging. Open or sealed, the choice is the collector’s to make and to accept.
