HK-based ELZ-co. continues its 武Ching series of urban animal characters with the new Flow resin art toy. The stylized octopus girl floats on a quirky, fun vibe with eight limbs of various sizes and shapes from a pair of ‘legs’ to three different styles of tentacles.
With mostly solid color parts and organic, smooth shapes, Flow resembles a polymer clay figure. The figure stands out with a distinct visual style, no easy task these days. While not articulated, Flow brings something unexpected, a magnetic head which allows her to be suspended from a metal shelf or perhaps a shelf with an attached magnet. Also seen with the previous Levitate figure, the concept is to maximize collectors’ already crowded display spaces. It’s also a pretty striking way to display a toy.
The 武Ching Ol – Flow resin art toy (4.5″) is available for pre-order from ELZ-co. for HK$198 ($26). The figures are expected to ship in the fourth quarter of 2020.
