Over the past few months, UK artist 2petalrose has been previewing his upcoming ‘We Are One Army’ custom Kid Katana minis, each one a unique 1/1 hand-painted figure. First featured at DesignerCon 2019 in the larger regular size figure, the We Are One Army figures feature a gas mask head sculpt on the popular Kid Katana body.
After several months of painting the new minis, 2petalrose has assembled a diverse army of 25 customs. As seen in the photos (above) there’s alot of variety here from solid color to camouflage designs. And that’s just the bodies. The stylized fun continues with the varied lens treatments including X’s, dot fields, ‘We Are One Army’ text split across the two lenses, Japanese floral patterns, iconic shoe brand logos and more.
In addition to the creative custom paint work, 2petalrose has gone above and beyond to deliver a hand-done product that rivals a production toy experience. From the katana, teeny tiny dog tag accessories, stand and 1-army pin to the custom vacuformed blisters and custom-designed cards, the new figures showcase the artist’s unwavering commitment to creating premium, self-produced art toys.
The We Are One Army Custom Kid Katana Mini resin art toys will be released for £175 ($232) via a form-based lottery from Monday (9.14) at 12 PM PDT until Wednesday (9.16) at 12 PM PDT over at 2petalrose’s site. The figures will be sold blind meaning that winners will be shipped a figure chosen at random.
