Part of what makes following and collecting Andrew Bell so much fun is that for every ‘expected’ release from his well-known properties (Android, Kill Kat and more), he astonishes with something completely unexpected. The new Checkmate resin art toys he’s created for DesignerCon definitely fall into the latter category. These are hand-cast 3.5″ resin versions of his previously released Last Night vinyl art toys. Keen readers will notice that these feature a more detailed sculpt with sculpted skin texture and deco throughout instead of the paint deco found on the original vinyl editions.
Checkmate will be available in invory, black and a few in antiqued cold-cast bronze from Andrew Bell’s DesignerCon booth [#108].
