That New Dork Smell @ Toyroom

That New Dork Smell… isn’t an insult…but the title of a show opening at the Toyroom
on April 14th. The show will feature works by over two dozen artists
(see below). Here are peeks of three of my favorites. First up is Matt Burnett’s wooden toys. These are part of a series entitled Head Wound Support Group.
There are 6 different characters to date with various items and tools
embedded in their heads. Standing at 6 inches tall, Mike’s creations
are made of  wood and are jointed at the arms and legs. These two
fellas are know as The Anvil Accident  &  The Icepick Incident. I don’t think you have a problem telling which is which?

The second piece is from Chris Ryniak titled The Prospectors.
I have been told  the little skull ghost guys in the painting are going
to be made into resin figures. A sculpt should be done any day now and
Vinyl Pulse will be the place to see it.

Finally, David Chung brings us Sissy Fight. However, there really isn’t anything sissy about this battle between giants of  opposite forces.

The show will run through May 13th and so if you are in the
Sacramento neighborhood, make sure you swing by to get up close and
personal to the pieces we have featured and many other great works on
display.

  1. Looks like a sweet line up… and the sneaks shown so far are superb. Can’t wait to see those little skull ghost critters as figures. 😀
