Jesse Hernandez’s striking take on the iconic kaiju continues its rampage with the Urban Aztec-branded Godzilla – Heat Ray variant vinyl art toy from Toho x Mondo. The Mondo exclusive blue-green colorway immediately remind us of Godzilla’s link to Japan’s oceans.
The Heat Ray variant offers a new take on Hernandez’s Aztec-inspired design which incorporates visuals drawn from the ancient warrior culture including masks (hips and knees) and shields (arm). The overall design has a battle vibe with Godzilla apparently wearing a suit of armor covering the head, torso and the top side of the tail. As with the fiery OG Burning Variant, the Heat Ray variant also comes with the removable Heat Ray accessory to unleash the kaiju’s full might.
The Godzilla – Heat Ray Variant vinyl art toy (10″) is available as a timed-preorder until Tuesday (11.7) @ 9:59 PM PDT from Mondo for $150 with an expected ship window of April 2024.
