Mecha Zero by Replicant 65

Previous Next

The just-released Mecha Zero is the second original art toy from Victor Newman’s Replicant 65 brand. Inspired by Newman’s passion for anime and sci-fi, the new ‘bot design draws on samurai and Japanese mecha.

Debuting in a sharp black and orange design, Mecha Zero’s armor incorporates a striking, eye-catching bird face concept into the chest plate of an otherwise familiar design.Zero’s weapon of choice is an intimidating double-bladed polearm. Despite the quasi-smiley face expression, this ‘bot has seen its share of intense action. Numerous battles have taken their toll, from the cracked ‘horn’ to the cumulative armor damage. The graphics on the figure include its namesake zero in kanji () and a stylized battle count image inspired by WWII fighter planes. Zero follows Replicant 65’s Afronaut figure with a standout hair design inspired by traditional Rwandan culture.

An edition of 25, the Mecha Zero art toy (8″) is available from Replicant 65 for $125 (shipping included). In addition to this black/orange colorway, Replicant 65 has also shown a Red Zero variant.
