Since expanding into toys from their run-away success with artistic movie posters, Mondo has released several notable versions of the Iron Giant, from Brad Bird’s beloved film about a boy and his robot. Now, Mondo is about to launch the 12.5″ Iron Giant Mondo Mecha figure, the first in their new Mondo Mecha series, featuring a 1/6 scale style deluxe treatment of the character with 35+ points of articulation, 4 interchangeable heads (Regular, Angry, Squinting and Battle Mode), six pairs of interchangeable hands, Steel Girder “meal”, interchangeable Battle Mode Arm, and removable teeth compatible with all the heads. Just think: super deluxe, ultimate Mondo Iron Giant.
Mondo is offering the new Iron Giant Mondo Mecha toy in two versions. The Mondo Exclusive version includes two additional accessories: Hogarth in Junked Car accessory and the the Sad Iron Giant head (for a total of five heads). There’s also the regular edition minus the car and Sad head. Both the Mondo Exclusive ($205) and the regular editions ($200) go up for pre-order on Friday (1.17) from Mondo. The Mondo Exclusive is a timed edition and will be available for odering through 2.18. Both editions are scheduled to shp at the end of September 2020.
