‘No Wings to Fly’ by Javier Calleja x AllRightsReserved

Previous Next

Spanish artist Javier Calleja’s latest sculpture continues his fascination with childhood—its lighthearted charm, limitless potential, and fond appeal to adults. Drawn from his paintings of wide-eyed children, his No Wings to Fly mixed media edition with AllRightsReserved, features the preparation for an attempted flight. The kid leans forward, arms spread wide like wings, knees bent, ‘here goes nothing’ expression on his face, as he imagines what could be.

An edition of 888, the No Wings to Fly sculpture (mixed media/vinyl/crystal glass, 10.63″) is available via lottery from the DDT Store until Sunday (1.8) at 9 PM PST for HK$6,280 (~$800). The sculpture features a printed signature and serial number under the feet. While Calleja has released several sculptures in the past, this may be the most accessible yet as one of his larger editions to date.
