Mattel Creations continues its mission of creating stylized, artistic collectibles of iconic properties with the new Masters of the Universe 100/400% Be@rbrick sets from Mishka x Medicom Toy. Mishka’s take on the Eternia powerhouses flows from the brand’s hand-drawn character style.
Rough and ready for a fight, the He-Man Be@rbrick design emphasizes the hero’s mighty muscles and flowing blond hair (a contrast with the original character). The rear of his chest plate features Mishka’s signature ‘Keep Watch’ eyeball design.
The purple and neon green menace that is Mishka’s Skeletor strikes fear into the hearts of his foes with a fierce, angular skull with a piercing gaze and jagged teeth. The design incorporates Mishka’s eyeball design into the epic villain’s traditional skull & bones chest protector.
Those in Southern California have an opportunity to pick up the new Be@rbricks a day early. Greg Rivera (Mishka Founder) will be doing a release/signing at 3DRetro in Glendale on Thursday (1.26) from 6 to 9 PM. Fans who purchase a MOTU Be@rbrick set at the release party will receive free food from the Traveling Greek food truck.
In addition to the new Be@rbricks, Mishka has designed a MOTU lifestyle capsule including tees, caps, hoodies and even a blanket.
The Masters of the Universe 100/400% He-Man and Skeletor Be@rbricks sets (2.76″, 11.02″) will officially launch on Friday (1.27) at 9 AM PST from Mattel Creations and Mishka NYC for $200/set.
