KaiKai Kiki artist MADSAKI revisits the Masters Of The Universe with his Skeletor sculpture created in collaboration with Mattel Creations. Inspired by the large-format sculpture featured in his 1984 solo exhibition (2020) at the Kaikai Kiki Gallery, MADSAKI’s vision brings his spray paint aesthetic to the ultimate face of evil. The vivid, neon colors complement those seen in his previous He-Man & Battle Cat set. The artist’s MOTU-inspired sculptures, paintings and prints are a celebration of the cartoon that was instrumental in his process of learning English.
The MADSAKI x Masters of the Universe Skeletor sculpture (11.8″) will be available on Wednesday (4.27) at 4:30 PM PDT as part of the Unboxed festival on the NTWRK app for $400. Mattel Creations will also release the sculpture on Friday (4.29) at 9 AM PDT. The Skeletor sculpture includes a signed certificate of authenticity and art handling gloves.
