IamRetro celebrates its vintage video gaming roots with its exclusive IamRetroBot vinyl art toy by Czee13 x Clutter. The first to use the new hoodie sculpt, this creative canbot design embodies the culture of video gaming with a nod to the big N’s 16-bit console in the classic purple/white/gray color scheme.
Playing off of Czee13’s previous all-over-print style designs, the IamRetroBot channels the games that grab hold and just won’t let go with a blocky repeating pattern of classic powerups seeping into the lil Canbot. The irregular jagged shapes draw inspiration from pixel art but also seem to convey the sometimes consuming nature of playful competition. The gaming craze is also reflected in the TV noise pattern in the eyes. A variation on the gaming theme, the black hoodie showcases a subtle black-on-black d-pad motif. Diving into the details, the latest Canbot features plenty of fun flourishes including the blocky ’13’ on the side of the character’s head. As with all Canbots, this one has the coveted can rattle feature.
