While the XXRAY figures based on the extremely-popular swashbuckling anime series offered Jason Freeny’s stylized, dissected takes on the pirates, the brand’s new CosmiQ series reimagines the characters in a new, alternate universe.
Leaving the high seas and swords behind, Luffy takes on the ever-changing fashion game as a hip Japanese kid. While his backwards snapback, oversized hoodie and kicks might seem far removed from his days as the powerful Straw Hat captain, the scar under his left eye recalls his adventures.
The CosmiQ Luffy vinyl art toy (8″) is available for pre-order from Mighty Jaxx for $185 with an estimated ship date of March 2023. Keep an eye out for his fellow Straw Pirates to take a walk on the CosmiQ side.
