Illinois-based artist Ryan Travis Christian brings together his vintage-style cartoon character for the wildy fun and elaborate Carousel Pyramid mixed-media sculpture from AllRightsReserved.
As with his paintings, the whimsical three-level carousel features a grayscale design with different types of characters on each level. The top level features RTC’s skull-like characters, the middle his dog characters and the bottom his beloved crows. Stripes throughout add a textural contrast, on the spire, the pillars, and the steps at the base. A few fun surprises await, including the little tear drop guy on the very tip top and the round googly-eyed faces looking upwards around the base.
An edition of 150, the Carousel Pyramind mixed-media sculpture (15.75″) is available via lottery from the DDT Store for HK$9,800 (~$12500) until Sunday (9.25) at 9 PM PDT. Numbered on the bottom, the sculpture comes in a wood box and includes a signed/numbered Certificate Of Authenticity.
