Best known for his Authors series celebrating iconic creators, Danil Yad takes on Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with a series of four upcoming vinyl art toys from Mighty Jaxx. Yad’s vision firmly roots the ‘heroes in a half shell’ in everyday reality. Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael come to life as neighborhood kids in turtle masks and shell backpacks rather than the hypermuscular humanoid heroes of comic book and movie lore.
Yad’s TMNT designs feature each turtle’s signature color bananda and weapons. The figures feature a triangular asphalt-style base with their names scrawled in graffiti style letters. As with all of Yad’s art toys, each turtle’s kicks are on point.
The TMNT x Danil Yad vinyl art toys (8″) will be available on Wednesday (1.13) at 6 AM PST from Mighty Jaxx for $199 each or $699 for the full set of four.
