Seen in several of Yosuke Ueno’s recent paintings, Lily the Kit blossomed out of the Japanese artist’s original piece for the Hello Kitty 45th Anniversary art show (6.19) held at Corey Helford Gallery. As with Hapiko before her, Lily makes the leap from canvas to shelf with the new Lily the Kit art toy sculpture produced by VINS.
The sculpture showcases Lily’s contemplative and playful sides. With her hands between her legs, her head forward, the seated Kit seems to reflect upon what’s to come. Her fluffy magnetic tail, which can be repositioned easily, hints at the joy within.
An edition of 100, the Lily the Kit polystone art toy sculpture (10.24″) makes her debut this weekend (1.15 – 1.17) at the One Art Taipei art fair from VINS’ showcase (Room 1424). She will also be available for online pre-order on Friday, January 29, 2021 at 7 AM PST from VINS and will ship out the second week of February 2021.
