1000Tentacles’ next release is The Fly, part 3 in the artist’s Metamorphosis Series. Detailing the process of changing from a human to an animal, the series stretches back before the artist’s popular boy & monster vinyl art toys.
The Fly features five resin sculptures (~4″) , each capturing a key point in the transformation from cute child into fearsome fly. The first figure features a boy holding a fly prior to undergoing metamorphosis. The remaining four figures depict the boy as he becomes progressively more fly like. As with the previous releases, the figures have a pleasing, hand-done appearance realized through the artist’s organic sculpting and painting style.
An edition of 50 sets, The Fly will be available for pre-order on Friday (5.1) at 8 AM PDT directly from 1000Tentacles via email or DM. The figures vary from 4″ to 4.7″ and each comes with a wooden base.
