Jason Naylor has revealed his upcoming OPN Heart art toy created in collaboration with 3DRetro. Drawn from his murals, the uplifting figure embodies his rainbow-hued art, his message and messenger, a heart with an open center.
Radiating a kaleidoscope of color, OPN Heart brings together a mix of approaches, juxtaposing neatly arranged segments with much more organic drips. The paint flowing off the character and into a surrounding puddle seems to tie back to Naylor’s murals, such as the one he painted at 3DRetro in 2018, and the work involved in making them a reality.
The medium-sized (~6-7″) OPN Heart is slated for a DesignerCon release, which may take an online/virtual format in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
