Inspired by old school deep sea divers, Japanese artist Q:Jam has created the Divers Dreams sofubi art toys. Standing 18 cm (7″), the kawaii figure features a detailed old-school dive helmet and retro style doll-like diver character. From the photos, it appears that the toys feature five points of articulation (head, arms, legs).The leg articulation allows Divers Dreams to sit as well as stand, a fairly unusual feature among art toys. As a nice touch, the dive helmets feature transparent windows on the front and both sides
Q:Jam is releasing three Divers Dreams editions—International Orange, Fresh Lime and Cotton Snow—via their online store on Sunday (1.19) at 4 AM PST. While pricing has not been announced, the previous unpainted Orange edition retailed for ¥5,500 ($50) — very reasonable for a 7″ figure.
