Coarse exhibited at this past weekend’s Culture Cartel convention in Singapore with a stunning installation collaboration with Mercedes Benz Singapore as well a new exclusive release.
The large-scale Drifting Bliss features a Noop awash in life’s beginnings, seemingly floating over a Mercedes Benz CLA. Given the size of the piece, the illusion of weightlessness creates a sense of astonishment. Drifting Bliss is similar to and perhaps inspired by the previous Coarse Originals: Sprouting Noop resin.
In addition to the MBZ installation, Coarse also released their Exclusive Meltdown Anatomy. The ice cream color palette partially echoes the human body, including pink organs. Apparently sold out at the show, we’re hoping to see an online release. This seems somewhat likely as many previous convention releases including those from previous conventions, including Shanghai Toy Show and Beijing Toy Show, have later been released online.
