Warner Brothers has unveiled several special editions of their upcoming Mortal Combat X video game including the Kollector’s Edition by Coarse ($150) featuring a Scorpion figure designed by Mark Landwehr and Sven Waschk. For their highest profile crossover project to-date, Coarse has re-envisioned the warrior in their aesthetic from the dynamic pose to the stylized musculature and exaggerated torso. In a cool twist, the Coarse-designed Scorpion will also be available in-game as a skin for those who purchase the special edition. It’s a good look at their work process including digital sculpting and use of a CNC machine to bring Scorpion to life.
