So we’re pretty big fans of Tesselate’s ED-IT DJ series featuring robotic tunes spinners hand-crafted in resin. His bots feature an eye-catching, clean, retro futuristic look through the use of a large number of simple shapes. In addition to the looks, Sam has taken the time to craft an engaging narrative relating the world these ‘bots live, work and play in.
His next series, ‘Before ED-IT’ showcases a series of blue-collar ‘bots before machines had the same rights as humans, granted by 2068’s Law of Awareness. First out of his lab is the construction ‘bot, BE_B5100, in the customary labor orange. Note the heavy-duty claws compared to the more nimble digits of the DJ’s and the wear ‘n tear (dents, dings, and such). Limited to just 1 hand-made resin piece, the BE_B5100 drops on Monday (8.26) @ 9 PM BST (1 PM PDT) from Tesselate’s web shop for 70 pounds (~ $109).
