I’m a big fan of Stephane Levallois’ Toxic Candies series of toys produced by Artoyz Originals. In fact, Sweety was one of my favorite toys of 2011. Now comes the newest member, Marge Mallow (ouch, toy pun ;). Released in early February in a debut standard Pink version (750 pcs), Artoyz is now about to drop the special hand-signed and numbered Light Purple edition for Valentine’s Day (100 pcs). Truth be told, these first two editions look to be very, very similar in color – at least in photos. That said, signed/numbered + 100 pieces might just put the Light Purple edition over the top.

In doing a lil’ research for this post, I stumbled upon two clues as to upcoming Toxic Candy characters. The first was a flier for a now since past Toxic Candies art show depicting 5 character, a candy apple character as well as peppermint mint style candy dude with just half a head. Secondly, Stephane recently posted an illustration which he described as a look at the upcoming toys. It features the peppermint one along with what might be hints on upcoming colorways of Sweety and Marge Mallow.
