Magic Pony & Narhwal Presents: The Torontoland Giant Snowmen

2011_Torontoland

Magic Pony & Narhwal have created a citywide art installation in the streets of Toronto, known as Torontoland. This art installation features 8’ tall Snowmen, which were each painted by local artists and artists from all over, participating artists includes: Tara McPherson, Nathan Jurevicius, Alex McLeod, Team Macho, TADO, Ben&Julia, Mark Gervais, Melinda Josie, Travis Lampe, Noel Middleton, APAK, Rilla Alexander, Jon Todd, Patrick Kyle and Ginette Lapalme.

The great thing about these installations is that when you take a picture with one of these snowmen and submit it either through email or text, Toronto Tourism will donate $2 to the Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada. They have already reached over $30,000 and are shooting for a goal of $50,000. So if you are in the area, go an adventure and track down all of these snowmen and snaps some pics for a great cause. You can see where all the snowmen are located by clicking HERE. You can also see all of the submitted photos HERE. The snowmen will be on display until Tuesday, December 20th or until their goal of $50,000 has been reached.

  1. aaaah i have been wondering what these are. i work very close to one, see it everyday. never got a chance to see what it was actually for. very cool

  2. The Snowmen Project raised $50,000 for the Starlight Foundation Charity – that means that over 25,000 Torontonians took their photo with a Giant Snowman!! Most of the Snowmen will be up until mid February for those people that haven’t seen them yet ;D
