Indonesian artist Arkiv will be making the trip to the USA for ‘Escapist’ which opens on Friday, August 5th 2011 @ Toy Art Gallery in LA. Here’s a quick preview of the loaded show which will include about 10 paintings, the debut black version of ‘The Sumo’ vinyl from adFunture, a collabo with Huck Gee, a Sumo print and a few different Sumo tees.
We’re definitely looking forward to seeing Sumo in person. The production version has been streamlined and will not include the bone accessories shown in the early press photo (below).
Arkiv’s painting style evokes a strong sense of detail from clean, simple shapes. This show will offer a rare chance to see his work up close in the USA. Also for those that love seeing process, Arkiv will be live painting during the opening.
