On the heels of the Mini Lunartiks, Matt Jones is about to drop Series 2 of the larger 6.5” Lunartik figures. This time around there are four ‘flavors’ (read: colorways). Expected in July, the figures are available at a special pre-order price of £29.99 ($49) for Friday only (5.27) over at lunartik.com , after which they will go for £34.99 ($57).
While I personally think the Lunartik in a Cup of Tea is a very cool and humorous design, its starting to feel a bit dated (the resin edition dropped in ‘06). S2 appears to be S1 in different colors albeit with a newly designed stirrer accessory. If this is going to be a platform toy, then I’d like to see more involved deco/designs + potentially other artists on these.
