French graffiti artist Alëxone brings his signature penguin character off walls and into 3D with his decidedly different (and awesome) ‘French Lowrider’ vinyl figure (6” h x 9” w), produced by Artoyz Originals. The wild scene plays out with the main masked penguin off for a ride in his hopped up lowrider with his crew of 5 smaller penguins riding shotgun. Limited to 150 pieces, The first edition of this figure will be available for preorder at Alëxone’s Paris solo, Y a Pas Photo, @ Galerie L.J. (5.5 to 6.11).
We’re big fans of this toy, having unveiled it at the Vinyl Pulse Spotlight at NYCC 2010. The sculpting done by Julien Moreau goes against the grain with soft, almost rough details in parts. The result is a toy that looks more like clay than vinyl, giving it a warmth that compliments the joyous and crazy characters.
