This past Thursday, Munky King released its 1st artist series of their innovative Omi mini-figure project at their spot on Melrose. Three of the nine S1 artists – Yoskay Yamamoto, Luke Chueh and Dave Pressler  were on-hand to sign and yes customize their Omis as well as sketch for collectors.

Omi Series 1 features two designs from each artist (regular and ‘mystery’).  over a few weeks right here on VP, We exclusively  revealed all of the mystery designs except for Yoskay’s .   His ‘mystery’ figure compliments the intensity of the black regular design with an ethereal white variation.

To showcase the potential of the Omi platform, Yoskay, Luke, Dave, and Ferg each created special art installations featuring nine custom Omis displayed on an Omi wall display. Yoskay and Dave chose to customize the Omi wall as well as the figures themselves.  Showcasing his creativity, Ferg used the included Omi peg connectors as the gas mask filters  on his Squadt inspired customs.

If you missed the opening, the S1 Omis are available in blind-boxes from Munky King and  your favorite toy shops, for $9.95 each.  If you’re looking for a clever twist on art toy minis, definitely take a look at Omi.
