Nathan Jurevicius recently revealed his porcelain version of Bunniguru, forthcoming from K.Olin Tribu.  As with Steph Cop’s Aro, the sculpt for this upscale Bunniguru is quite nice and appears to be true to the original vinyl.  These new porcelain pieces raise the bar though they are more art sculpture than art toy per se. What’s your take?  Let us know in the comments. At any rate, we’re happy to see K.Olin Tribu pushing things in an innovative direction.

  1. I love it! Though its not as easy to play with as a toy, it will come closer to the “art” and not “toy” that people are constantly trying to criticize toy customizers for.

  2. I agree. the debate of whether designer vinyl is art or a toy has been a huge debate within the designer vinyl community and art community in general. I think projects like this allow people to look at it from a different perspective. just because somethings made of porcelain instead of vinyl does this make it art now? I believe it already is and hopefully projects like this can point this out effectively enough for the art community as a whole to look at it in this light as well. I hope one day art history books will give this designer vinyl movement and the community of artists that surround it their proper due.
