I had the pleasure of dropping by the Toy Art Gallery to catch the setup of the Netzwerk and Mushashinto Tech show opening on Friday, May 28th (7-10 PM) at the new spot for monthly toy-focused events. The show features the hand-crafted figures of Daniel Goffin (interview) and Martin Osuna (above, right). Daniel is in town from Germany for the show and was installing his figures while I went a little nuts with the camera. Martin unfortunately will not be at the opening, but his army of figures certainly will.
From Daniel’s retro leaning figures combining elements of the glamour of yesteryear with organic hybrid DNA to Martin’s futuristic shaman-like pieces, this show is well worth a visit, especially for those tired of the status quo. There’s a nice a mix of one-off/super-small edition figures as well as slightly larger editions including Daniel’s new Charlize Harlow vs. Onell figures and his innovative Metamorphin micro ‘pill’ figures.
This is the first opportunity to buy many of Daniel’s figures which while they have been shown online have not really been “released”. Awesome stuff. Hit the jump for an eyeful. We’ll be there, will you ?
