Seen: Rotofugi @ Wondercon

Rotofugi (booth # 1135)  made the trip out  to SF for Wondercon for the 2nd year in a row.  While spoiled SoCal folks (like myself) look at SF as ‘chilly’ — Kirby and Whitney have fled Chicago’s seriously cold temps for the relatively balmy bay area.  And… they’ve brought plenty of new toy goodness created jointly with Squibbles Ink.

First up… an early release of Shawnimals’s Ninja Town micro plush series 1.5 and series 2.  Fun stuff.  Next… a solid orange proto pull of the first Lake Monster figure, Big Muscamoot by Chris Ryniak.  This one looks good — lots of detail in the sculpt, good size as well.  The series will feature kaiju-style spray deco done right here in the USA.

Now things get really interesting.  Rotofugi dropped special Wondercon ’09 editions of two of their upcoming series — Marshall Series 01 by 64 Colors and Tear Drips by Travis Lampe.  The Original Marshall figure in vintage coloring is limited to 500 pieces and is going for $14 (includes CA tax).  The Zoltar Tear Drip is limited to 300 pieces and will set you back $18 (includes CA tax).

All twelve Tear Drips were on display in the booth.  These will retail for $14.99 and are blind-boxed.  In a collector friendly move, each flat of 12 figs will feature a full set.

Sixteen of the nineteen (3 chase) Marshall figures are on display at the roto booth.  These blind-box figures are larger than you might expect (4″ ?) and will set you back $10.99 each.

Timetables are always tricky, but both Tear Drips and the Marshalls should drop sometime this spring.
