Cleveland artist Chris Ryniak spends his days toiling on leprechauns and unicorns for a well-known greeting card company. So… by night he creates twisted, curious, and sometimes downright nasty monsters be it in acrylic on canvas or with sculpey and paint on custom toys.
Speaking of customs, Chris is about to unleash his Bug Jar series of custom toys with Shoparooni. Each creation will be packaged in a jar and not revealed to the purchasers opens it. Bug Jar #1, Button Eater, to be released tomorrow – Friday, February 27th, 2009 features a custom of Kathie Olivas’s Scavengers (MINDstyle). Most of the Bug Jar releases will sell for about $200. Chris does great custom work with amazing sculptural details – this is definitely worth following 😉
