Zoso – ‘No Rest for the Weary’ Wall Mural

DSC_6770

Proving that life imitates art, LA artist Zoso spent most of Tuesday night working on a wall mural that will likely require at least one more late-night session for his ‘No Rest for the Weary’ solo which opens this Thursday (8.28) at Munky King.

While some artists find one particular style or character that resonates and then proceed to focus on that to the exclusion of everything else, Zoso continues to explore different styles and subject matter as both challenge and stimulus. For this show, he’s started to paint buildings, specifically a “shanty town” drawn not from reference material per se but his own imagination.

Starting with a projected image to get the outline laid out, Zoso proceeded to bring his jumbled, askew and peculiarly beautiful shanty town to life across two walls at Munky King.  Enjoy these shots (after the jump) of the mural in-progress and be sure to check out the opening on Thursday – the pieces we saw were excellent.
