This is Jesse Hernandez’s Dios Murcielago (‘Bat God’) custom Munny done for a photo spread in YRB Magazine (April ’08). So what’s it all about? In Jesse’s own words…
This design represents the Bat as the messenger of the underworld or "Mictlan" to the aztecs. Bats were known as Quimichpapalotl or Butterfly mouse and held in very high regards. This bad boy demands his respect, diss him and you’ll be passing on to the otherside with a quickness.
Jesse’s Bat God will be featured in the spread along with customs by several other artists including Sket One, COPE2, dril one and Brent Nolasco.
