Non-profit Keep A Breast raises funds for breast cancer awareness and research through the auction of plaster torsos of the female form customized by artists. For ’07, Keep A Breast has partnered with the Burlesque Hall of Fame for the Breast Defense: Glamour Girls for Early Detection event. Plaster cast torsos of forty burlesque performers and vixens were sent to artists as unique blank canvases.
A preview event of the first completed works presented by the Gallery @ Screen Arts will be held on October 5th at the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida. The event will feature this unique form of art from noted celebs and artists including Sarah Emerson, Gabriel Shaffer, Iggy Pop, PJ Fidler, Kim Gordon,Nash, Scott Ewalt, Derek Hess, R. Land, George Long, KRK Ryden, Tony Rodrigues, Attaboy, Annie Owens, Mark Mothersbaugh, David Cutter, Ian Chase, Tonya Lee, Mark George, Casey Weldon, Chase, Charlene Lanzel, and Mitch O’Connell.
