Munky King Melrose will host the release party for the Goth edition (black) of Whaleboy tomorrow, Thursday July 5th from 7 to 11 PM. In addition to the Goth edition (limited to 100 pcs), the regular blue edition will be available at the event as well. Created by Patrick Morgan, Eduardo Acosta, and Taesoo Kim, the 6" Whaleboy figure has created quite a buzz among collectors and it’s not hard to see why. The deceptively simple design is wacky, personable and has sweet touches such as the dope parasitic fish. Whaleboy comes with 4 interchangeable faces (ala Groob). All three of Whaleboy’s creators will be signing at the event.
A whale of a tale? Maybe not, but there’s more to tell… The gallery area of MK will host a whaleboy themed art show featuring the talents of Joe Vaux, Justin Ridge, Kristen Lester, Louie del Carmrn, Jose Lopez, Sam Michlap, John Nevarez, Griselda Sastrawinata, Bobby Chiu, Johnny "kmnd_z" Rodriguez, Mark Covell, Raul Guerra, Andrew Burrell, Louis Grane, and Tom Neeley.
So after getting your fill of BBQ today on the 4th, carry the party over tomorrow night at MK Melrose with the Whaleboy creators — and be sure to pick up the LE Goth Whaleboy.
