Seen: Glenn Barr – Haunted Paradise Signing (2.17.07)

Glenn Barr was down at La Luz De Jesus this past Saturday (2.17.07) as part of his 5-stop west coast signing tour for his new book, Haunted Paradise.   Published by La Laz De Jesus Press in association with Last Gasp, the volume covers Glenn’s works from 2002 through 2006, showcasing his range of work from the well-known  gritty depictions of the Motor City to perhaps lesser-known works that draw on his comic-book roots including appropriations of ‘toon classics such as the Flinstones and Jetsons. In addition to the book, a small number of Glenn’s new Hell’s Proprietor wooden toy were available at the event.

While signing and personalizing his book for fans, Glenn took time to talk about some of his upcoming toy projects.  There are some really nice things in the pipeline featuring both his ‘toon inspired art as well as his darker visions.   One in particular is poised to redefine people’s conceptions of art toys.
