Update: Closing date corrected to February 17th rather than January 17th.
Don’t forget that tomorrow night (1.13.07) is the opening of the BMG
Artists’ Annual ’07 show at BLK/MRKT Gallery in Culver City.
Below is a new Jeff Soto painting, Fall Energy Waves, that will be
there, and the show itself is a stone knockout. This is a rare
opportunity to see such a wide selection of new work by artists
ranging from up-and-coming, to museums-battle-to-buy. At press time,
two striking works by Dave Kinsey are still available, as is a beautiful,
haunting piece by the inimitable Tiffany Bozic and three (!) new large paintings
from Conor Harrington. BLK/MRKT has done as much as anyone to bring Real
Art World Cred to street/lowbrow/urban artists, and their annual survey
show last year was a home run. Seeing this one is a must, if you
are in the area. The show opens tomorrow (Saturday) night and is only up
until 2/17, so there’s not much time!

Excuse my poor eyesight, but what are those statues?
That is an installation of 14 concrete and enamel-coated Kewpee dolls by the sculptor Adam Kurtzman.
FYI – The show runs through February 17th, not ending January 17th as the above post incorrectly states. And the show may be touring as well..
