Help Save Huck Gee

Huck Gee is well-known to designer toy fans.  Huck is the father of Skullhead and the creator of numerous production Dunnys, not to mention amazing customs. Beyond all that, he’s a stand up guy. Unfortunately, Huck’s in a really bad spot.  Basically, he’s a permanent resident of the United States but is about to be deported because of a felony convinction back when he was 18.  This only recently came to a head when he left the country for Japan and was detained by Homeland Security upon his return. That’s a really brief summary of his ordeal.  He’s posted a much more detailed account on his site.  Huck appears to have a winnable case but it requires hiring a lawyer which is not cheap by any stretch… $10,000 or perhaps more.  As a citizen, I’m disturbed that the government is wasting time and money trying to deport an individual who has clearly turned his life around and is a hard-working and productive member of society.

So what can you do?  Well, two things.  The most pressing is to help Huck with some of the legal costs he faces.  Huck has put several very cool toys up for auction on EBay including some one-of-a-kind pre-production toys.  Check out all of his EBay auctions and bid generously if you possibly can.  Secondly if the situation upsets you as much as it does me, then write Huck’s Congresswoman and let her know how you feel.  Perhaps she can help Huck in some way or at the very least change priorities in immigration enforcement.   There may also be some upcoming exclusives from some very cool toy companies with all the proceeds going to Huck’s legal defense.  We’ll be sure to keep you all up on those plans when they firm up.
