Coarse Toys is without a doubt one of the hottest and perhaps not surprisingly hardest-working vinyl toy brand in the scene today. Today they announced the latest creation from Mark Landwher (Interview) and Sven Waschk – the Jaws Loser. Available in two editions – white (100 pcs) and the rarer blush (50 pcs), this is apparently the end of the line for Jaws.
The Noop is going out in an explosion of color (much as Paw!) from the paint-splattered shorts to his bright pink ‘beard’ and gums of the shark shield. As with all Coarse releases, the attention detail really accentuates their distinct design sense. From the multi-colored striped pupils (purple, white, and blue) to the handcrafted paper box sealed with a clear silkscreened sleve, Jaws Loser seems more than ready to live up to the high standards collectors have come to love and crave.
Both the white and the rarer Blush Jaws Loser Edition figures (13”) go on sales this Friday, March 26th exclusively @ coarsehkg for HK$ 2300 (~$296) which includes global shipping. Coarse Family and Friends members apparently have first crack at the blush edition. If you’re not yet a family and friends member, keep collecting – each figure including the jaws loser white comes with FF code card – collect three codes and you’re in.
Finally, Coarse is also releasing Jaws Loser in a 2.4” keychain form. Limited to 600 total pieces, this breaks down to 100 blush and 500 white. The color you receive is the luck of the draw, every 6th keychain figure is the blush edition. These will be available for HK $82 (~$10.5).
While we’re happy to see that Jaws is getting a nice sendoff, we’re even more excited to see what’s NEXT – what new bit of vinyl magic Coarse is busy conjuring up.
