I haven’t been collecting vinyl for very long at all… just started in December ’04 in fact. I started collecting because I was lured by the brilliant art and amazing shapes. And that’s still why I collect today. Beyond great design though, I find that other details can really "make" a toy for me. When I got my first Qee I was amazed by both the quality of the paint job and the inclusion of lots of "extras" such as stickers, buttons, and of course the keychain (I don’t think I could actually bear to use a qee on a keychain…). But the coolest thing about the Qee’s in terms of "extras" is the forethought to have all? of the Qee’s designed with holes in their feet so that can be placed on their own custom stands! <\/p>\n

It seems like a trivial thing, but in my experience some toys just
\ndon’t stand up very well — they are unstable and like to plop over
\nwith the slightest movement which can be quite disappointing. So Kudos
\nto Toy2r for the solution to this problem. I only wish the Fang
\nWolve”s and the the Knuckle Bear’s shipped with the stands! That’s OK
\nthough, the Qee’s do (or at least series 4 and 5 do).\n<\/p>\n
So while art and design are the reasons I got into this hobby,
\npractical issues of build quality and display stability are also pretty
\nimportant IMO. A toy with a great design but a unstable base that
\nresults in him plopping over constantly is rather unfortuante. I’m
\nexaggerating here of course, but I do think it’s possible to do both as
