For Love of Munny<\/strong><\/a> opening this Saturday, February 3rd<\/strong> @ Bear and Bird Gallery<\/strong> will feature over 100 custom Munnys<\/strong> from an extremely talented lineup (see flier<\/a>).  Designer toys are starting to take ahold in South Florida, so it’s  fitting that two of Florida’s top postbrow artists kick off our show previews — Kathie Olivas<\/strong><\/a> and Brandt Peters<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n

\nBrandt Peters is perhaps best known for his 1920’s era retro-themed creations, while Kathie Olivas’s Misery Children<\/strong> series of paintings and custom toys have made her a rising star in the postbrow art scene. Both artists will release vinyl figures based on their original art in ’07.  Both custom Munnys showcase each of their artistic styles and talent to full effect. \n<\/p>\n
