:phunk Studio<\/a><\/strong>  opened their dramatic Universe<\/strong><\/a> show this past Saturday (1.19.08) @ Gallery J. Chen<\/strong><\/a> in Taipei.  While toy collectors are probably most familiar with :phunk from the recent Lei Gong vinyl figure, the studio excels with conceptual and illustration work. The work draws on a variety of  culture influences including Chinese Philosophy, HK Pulp Fiction, Japanese manga, Otaku subculture, and broadly pop culture.   We didn’t make the show but Eddie<\/strong> from Pixie<\/strong><\/a> did and dropped these great shots in our inbox.
