It’s been about a year and a half since Super7 first started the drool flowing with the unveiling of the limited-edition 24” Stormtrooper Super Shogun project @ SDCC 08. Now the release appears imminent with official pictures + news from Super7 about their first collaborative project with Lucasfilm. To share the big news they’ve created a special subsite – starwars.super7store.com.

This is one of those projects that speaks to your inner child. While adult ‘rules’ restrain many from jumping up and down (at least in public), the little kid inside does so and maybe even does a little dance. Star Wars + Shogun Warriors (Jumbo Machinder toys) at a whopping 24”? Yes. This is a special project, a toy made for pop culture geeks and hard-core toy fans.

Thankfully S7 took the time to get all the details just right including the essential ‘Jumbo’ touches such as wheels on the feet and the Rocket Punch firing fist. Staying true to the production methods of the 70’s the Stormtrooper Super Shogun features a blow-molded polyethylene body with a vinyl helmet. The attention to detail extends to the stormtrooper’s blaster … officially known as the BlasTech E-11 laser blaster. The detail is great right down to the folding stock which unfolds beneath the barrel and back to the rear of the gun.

So now you’re thinking, ok Star Wars, Jumbo Machinder, 24”… awesome, but how much? $300 which seems very reasonable all things considered.
