Whether resin is indeed the \u2018new vinyl\u2019 or not, the spreading tide of artists casting their own figures in resin has definitely  lowered the barriers to indie artists expressing themselves in three dimensions.  The Open Call Resin Toy Juried Show<\/strong> opening on Friday June 11th @ TAG<\/a> showcases this creative medium.  In addition, the show also doubles as a resin design contest with multiple categories  judged by a knowledgeable panel including John Stokes<\/a>, Jeremy Brautman<\/a>, Ayleen Gaspar<\/a>, George Gaspar<\/a>, and Julie B<\/a>.   Here\u2019s a preview of some of the pieces in the show featuring figures by Paul Kaiju<\/a>, Gumliens<\/a>, Giant Japanese Monster, Bad!<\/a>,  Defiance Speed Shop<\/a>, Splurrt<\/a>, Mondocoyote<\/a> and more. <\/p>\n
