Last year’s Plush Week show featuring a mind-blowing cornucopia of hand-made plush was such a rousing success that curator Jon M. Gibson and Gallery 1988 have brought it back. Plush Week 2: Eclectic Boogaloo opens today — Tuesday, January 23rd from 7 to 10 PM @ Gallery 1988. This year’s installment features hand-made plushes from 41 artists — the best of the best. The show will also feature installations from Anna Chambers, Michelle Valigura, and Jude & Amy Buffum.
As if that’s not plushtastic goodness for one night, the show will double as the launch of Switcheroo , Amanda Visell and Michelle Valigura’s new company. Their first product, Michelle Valigura’s Robot Girl plush (based on a previous plush piece) will be released at the show for a retail of $28. Every Robot Girl purchased will entitle the buyer to a raffle ticket to win the giant 5 and a half foot Robot Girl plush created by Michelle Valigura.
Finally (really!) — Anna Chambers will be releasing her brand new limited-edition Lucy Owl plush. Not to be missed — Anna’s work is nothing short of awesome. Peep the flier for more info.
