It turns out that T9G is indeed part of the just-released Kaiju Hunting 2 blindbox series from Paradise. While he had a design in the first series, he was not part of the officially announced roster which includes Shoko Nakazawa, Coarse, Feebe, Hiroto Ohkubo of Instinctoy, Kenny Wong, Kasing Lung and Shon. Now we know why, as T9G’s contribution to KH2 is the ‘secret’ design: Komataro. Komataro seems to be a mystical mix of several of the artist’s previous designs. incorporating elements of each including Nekotaro’s head and eyes and Rangeas JR’s horns. There also seems to be a bit of dragon here with the wispy ‘smoke’ coming from his nose.
There are apparently three Komataro versions including white, blue and GID. At this point, ratios are unknown. Kaiju Hunting 2 is available from Paradise’s retail network including Rotofugi, myplasticheart, 3DRetro and QPop. It’s also available this weekend from the Little Hut/Toy Soul booth [4-13-01] at Wonder Festival Winter 2020 (2.9) in Japan.
