The opening of the Lost Underground Art Project exhibition @ Gallery 1988 on Tuesday evening offered a variety of series inspired artwork including a pleasant surprise – custom resin Statues of Tawert. A select group of artists were asked to customize the ‘four toe’ resins which were sculpted and cast by Julie B. of Pretty in Plastic. Shown in an excellent thematic desert display, the pieces blend the excitement of art toys and customs with the mythology of Lost in a seamless and unexpected way.
